The Wounded - The Fallen

I met my fellow warriors in this great war
The good ones thought me how to grief right, the bad ones showed me how to hate
And in a way we all feared the same I think
Grief, faith and fear maybe (hate), they were all the same to me

They took me to a place where I could see, the truth in you and me
When we thought we could change the world
For the good within you and me

Glory feeds on tragedies that we hide away in the subjective truth of time
Never to be told, for heroes we need to cover our wrongs
But in time they will burn just the same
When the smoke has learned only death and dust…. And pain
And the never really told us until years after this
Looking back, Evil wasn’t evil for real
But just a bad choice That wasn’t really a choice
With blood red hate they wrote our names
We were fighting on the wrong side

They took me to a place where I could see, the truth in you and me
When we were young and full of greed
We thought that we could change the world
Did we trust too much on reason? And burned away our dreams?
The world however couldn’t see
That there was no honesty
And we did never really see
The truth for you and me
It died with you and me
